A Safe Operating Calling Bell Wiring Diagram
It is safe to operate with a very low-voltage switching system that ensures it is used with a step-down transformer whose input is 230 volts and output is 8 to 12 volts.
NOTES1. Transformer steps 230V AC mains down to 8–12V AC (SELV, safe to touch).
2. Push button is a Normally-Open (N.O.)momentary switch — closes circuit only while pressed.
3. Bell operates on low-voltage AC/DCside only — no mains voltage reaches the door switch or bell casing.
4. For multiple doors, wire additional N.O. push buttons in PARALLEL across the same two low-voltage terminals.
5. Use min. 0.5–0.75 mm² twin flex cable for the low-voltage bell run.
6. Fit a 2A fuse / MCB on the 230Vprimary side per BNBC 2020 wiring and local safety regulations.
