What is Fasting in Ramadan and what we get it from?

Ramadan is a very committed and pious month of Islamic calendar for Muslims (believers of Islamic monotheism of God).  Muslims do not offer fasting for medical or their physical benefits but because it has been preordained to them in the Quran (revelation of God) from the most gracious most merciful Allah. But in modern medical science found in their research that fasting is not harmful for human body, moreover as a result of fasting there are lots of physical and mental benefits for them. In short we can say fasting helps to rinse out our body from toxic accumulation and other impurities thereby give rejuvenating, refreshing and invigorating outlook to our personality.

Diet Plan Fasting and Ramadan Fasting:

Generally some time physician prescribes fasting as medicine for medical reasons for weight management and lowering lipids; but fasting has adverse effects as well as so-called crash diets. Voluntarily Ramadan fasting is different from diet plan fasting, there is no any malnutrition or inadequate calorie or water intake in time period after sunrise to before sunset. During fasting time they also avoid sexual activities and unnecessary talking to others.

Research on Ramadan Fasting:

In 1994 the first International Congress on "Health and Ramadan," held in Casablanca where 50 research papers are submitted from all over the world.  Muslim and non-Muslim researchers who have done widespread studies on the medical ethics of fasting are participated on that conference. Whereas many vital medical conditions was noted; but no way did fasting worsen any patients’ health or baseline medical condition. Exception is that patients who are suffering from severe diseases, whether diabetes or coronary artery disease, etc., are only excuse from fasting.

The Cable Drum shall be covered by steel sheet to protect from external thrust. All goods are to be export-packed and properly protected for shipment, rough transportation and storage.

Each set of jointing kits shall be sealed in waterproof polyethylene bag having a silica gel packet placed inside the unit and then packed in polystyrene foam gasket closed by self adhesive tape.  Rating of the unit shall be marked by marker pen or label on the foam for easy identification.

Maximum 10 (ten) sets of Jointing kits are allowed to pack into separate wooden packaging box lined with heavy gauge polyethylene.

Between the cartoons, a suitable packing material for protection and preventing their movement should be used. Each box shall have an individual waterproof, transparent and heavy gauge polyphone wrapper and bitumen paper and then packed into a five-ply paper carton for Boxes. Silica gel shall be provided inside the each polyphone wrapper. The packing case should be able to withstand accidental direct exposure to weather for reasonable period.

 The supplier shall be responsible for damages due to inadequate packing. A packing list showing the contents of each packing shall be enclosed in a waterproof envelope secured to the outside of the packing case. A copy of the packing list shall also be enclosed the package.

All packages imported are liable to be opened for Customs examination and packing shall therefore be designed to facilitate opening and re-packing thereafter.

A red band (20cm. wide) shall be painted all around each package. Each package shall the following information printed on it in bold letters:

-         Name of supplier.

-         Port of Loading

-         Port of destination.

-         Name of Consignee.

-         Contract Number.

-         Brief description of Stores.

-         Number of Packages.

-         Gross and net weight.

-         Measurements.

In addition, each package shall be clearly marked or stenciled in red on two sides, the shipping mark, "Employer, Country" inscribed within a triangle mark as shown below:

On the other two sides’s arrow marking with the wording "THIS SIDE UP" and "FRAGILE" shall be clearly marked or stenciled to indicate the face of the package to be kept upward.

Inspection and Testing

The Purchaser shall have the right to inspect/test the goods/materials to confirm their conformity to the specification.

The Purchaser shall be entitled at all reasonable time during manufacture to inspect, examine and test of goods/materials at the manufacturers' premises, workmanship and performance. 

The Supplier shall, after consulting the purchaser, give the Purchaser reasonable notice in writing of the date on and the place at which any material or equipment will be ready for resting as provided in the contract and unless the purchaser shall attend at the place so named on date, which the supplier has stated in his notice, the supplier may proceed with the tests, which shall be deemed to have been made in the purchaser's presence, and shall forthwith forward to the purchaser duly certified copies of test readings.

When the purchaser intends to attend the test he shall promptly inform the supplier accordingly in writing, so the supplier can take action. The purchaser shall give the supplier timely notice in writing of his intention to attend the test.

Where the supplier provides for tests on the premises of the supplier or of any manufacturer of the supplier, except where otherwise specified, shall provide free of charge such assistance, labor, materials, electricity, fuel, stores, apparatus and instruments as may be requisite and as may be reasonably demanded to carry out such test efficiently. This test shall be performed as per relevant IEC/BS Standard or equivalent and routine tests as agreed upon.

As and when the purchaser is satisfied that any materials/equipment shall have passed the tests referred to in this clause, purchaser shall notify the contractor in writing to that effect.

Should any inspected/tested goods fail to conform to the specification, the Purchaser shall have the right to reject any of the items or complete batch if necessary. In that case Supplier has to replace the Equipment and to make good of them without any financial involvement to the Purchaser. 

Nothing in this clause shall in any way release the supplier from any warranty or other obligations under the contract.

Post Landing Inspection (PLI)

Post landing inspection shall be done by a PLI committee of Employer immediately after arrival of the goods at the designated store. The program of such inspection shall be intimated to the representative of Supplier. The PLI committee in its report shall mention the exact/assessed quantity of goods. The Post Landing Inspection of goods shall generally cover the following, but not limited to it-

(i)      Visual Inspection of goods;

(ii)  Conformance with approved drawings with respect to      dimensions/type/size.

(iii)     Quantity of supplied goods.

The steel reinforcing bars shall be in the form of round or deformed bars and shall be made by approved manufacturers in accordance with the requirements of B.S. 4449, B.S 4461 and B.S. 4483 as applicable and bent to comply with B.S. 4466. The minimum bar size to be used shall be 8 mm diameter. Welding of bars for extensions shall not be permitted. Bend tests shall be carried out on site to cheek the quantity of rebar.

 How Binding Wire?

Metal reinforcement is to be secured against displacement by using N. 16 SWG annealed iron wire ties or suitable clips at inter-sections. Tails of all wire ties shall be bent away from adjacent concrete surfaces. All rebar shall be held rigidly in place so that it cannot move during concreting.

 Storing Procedure

All reinforcing bars shall be stored on the site on timber supports at least 200 mm clear of the ground.

Fixing Technique

The number size form and position of all the reinforcement shall unless otherwise directed or authorized by the Engineer be strictly in accordance with the Contractor’s approved drawings. Nothing is to be allowed to interfere with the disposition of the reinforcing bars and the Contractor is to make a particular point of seeing that they are placed correctly in every respect. The minimum cover to any reinforced bar shall be at least 75 mm when below ground.

Cleaning System

All reinforcing steel shall be free from heavy rust loose scale oil and grease or other deleterious material immediately before the concrete is placed in forms.

 How Take Approval?

The Contractor must obtain the written approval of the Engineer to the reinforcement when placed before any concrete is placed.

CIVIL WORK & FORMWORK

Formwork shall include all temporary moulds for forming the concrete to the required shape.

Construction Works

Timber forms shall be constructed of sound well seasoned timber or prefabricated steel forms may be used.

The formwork shall be fixed in perfect alignment sufficiently rigid and strong and securely braced so as to be able to withstand without appreciable displacement deflection or movement of any kind the weight of the construction and the movement of persons, materials and plant. All joints are to be grout tight to prevent leakage of liquid from the concrete, wedges and clamps are to be used wherever practicable.

All forms shall be aligned to a tolerance of ± 3mm.

How take Preparation?

Before any concreting is commenced forms and centering shall be carefully examined and the space to be occupied by the pour thoroughly cleansed out. The inside of forms shall be treated with a coating of an approved substance to prevent adhesion and the forms shall be thoroughly wetted shortly before concreting is commenced.

No concreting shall be commenced in any portion of the Works until the preparations have been approved by the Engineer.

Striking

Forms shall be removed in such a manner as will not injure the concrete and no formwork until the concrete has sufficiently set and hardened.

Damage Concrete

The Contractor shall make good at his own expense any injury to the concrete work and any damage caused by or arising from the removal and striking of forms and supports. The attention of the Engineer must be drawn to any damage so caused and no repair work carried out without the prior approval of the Engineer.
