List of ACSR Conductor Sizes as per ASTM Standard

ACSR (ALUMINUM CONDUCTORS STEEL REINFORCED)  Conductor Sizes and Specification List as per ASTM Standard

Normally animals names are used to descrive the ACSR conductrs. It is used in only a few countries and has as usual no scientific or  any other background.

The animal names are a short-cut way of describing various  standardized overhead power distribution lines, as typically used by  utilities.

But people do get some ideas and Some one likely would try to  justify by saying that these are meant for line-men who won't be able to  remember the numbers but if you look at the list then you would realize  that for him to remember the names, he would have to be an expert in  lifesciences.

These nomenclatures are for easy reference and remembrance. Also there are different categories, as already mentioned, ACSR after animals, also to mention AAAC (All Aluminium Alloy) are named after plants (like- Oak, Hazel, Elm,...) AAC (All Aluminium) after insects (like- Butterfly, Wasp,... ) and so on.

Here we will provide the Aluminium conductor's sizes and specification based on ASTM standard. ASTM actually an international standard organization that over 12,000 ASTM standards operate globally. They improve the lives of millions every day.
