A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. A blog also called a weblog is a type of website. Blogs are written and are typically updated on a regular basis.

The blog is a frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links, that is usually arranged from the most recent post (or entry) at the top of the main page where featured most prominently and the older entries towards the bottom.

A blog is a personal diary. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world. –Blogger

Create a blog using Google's Blogger

A blog (a contraction of the term "weblog") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. - Wikipedia

The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.”

Blogs are usually updated daily or regularly using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog.

Blogs are often written usually on a particular topic – there are blogs on virtually any topic you can think of. From charity work, product promotion, recipes, personal diaries, and hobbies.

Blogs usually have two main features namely Archives and Comments which are briefly explained below.

Archives of a blog
The front page of a blog will show only the recent entries. Some major blogs could have as many as thousands of posts or pages. These contents can be found in the Archives section of the blog under the month or year the entry was made. In some blogs, previous posts are available in the Categories section. For example, you could see the Archives and Categories on the right and left sections of this Blog you are reading now.

Comments to posts in a blog
Another feature of blogs is to allow comments by the reader. Many blogs allow comments but some do not. In this Blog, comments are enabled and you can give me feedback on almost everything I write simply by clicking the ‘comments’ link at the bottom of each one of my posts.

Great Blogging Tips that Increase Your Traffic

Twitter is about making the world smaller by generating efficient communication within 140 characters at a time. Generally most of whom live on Twitter are either in their workplaces doing their duties or attending to other responsibilities while keeping an eye on Twitter. So if you need to grab the attention of your busy followers your tweet should outshine and stand out and this is where the Dynamic Post Title comes in.

The first important fact we have to understand is what we tweet is not going to be read at the first instance, therefore retweets (RT) become important so that your tweets can reach the maximum audience possible.

Sometimes followers could initiate RTs only by reading the post title in your tweet. Therefore it is vital to have a Dynamic Post Title which could set off RTs.

I use the following tips as my guide to creating most of my post titles. Here are the Top 8 Tips For Creating  Dynamic Blog Post Titles To Ignite Twitter Retweets.

Personalize your Title: This is to include ‘you’ or ‘your’ in the post title. This will in fact help personalize your post, and thereby can have a good impact.

Make it Educational: Indicate in your title that by reading the article the readers will obtain some sort of detail, idea, or information.

Title with Question: Post titles with questions, for example, starting with “How to”, “What is” or in other forms can get a better response from readers.

Provide a Benefit: The title should inform the readers that they will receive a free tool or something that will benefit them by reading your post.

Unique Title: Make your title unique which will be new to your readers.

Specify Numbers in Title: Have a numeric list or a specific number in your title. For example “8 Tips”, “5 Elements”, “Top 10”, “Lose 10 pounds in 30 Days”, “7 Things”. This will indicate defined information or benefit to your readers who will be interested in reading your post and retweeting.

Make title Solid: Words such as “maybe”, “sometimes”, “somewhat”, and “around” or words containing similar meanings can have a negative and passive effect on the readers. Therefore make your title short, strong, and to the point.

Keep title Short: As you are aware Twitter has a 140-character limitation hence you need to leave space for someone to retweet (RT) your tweet. So to give credit to the retweeting person.

Here are some of my posts with titles made with the above guidelines which got better retweets.
