Series wiring increases resistance and essentially means the voltage is shared between all the speakers. In parallel wiring, each speaker can achieve its full voltage potential as each speaker has an independent relationship with the amplifier.

If both speakers are 8 ohms or more, then it is normally safe to connect them in parallel. This is because two 8 ohm speakers in parallel makes the total load impedance 4 ohms.

Why Parallel Combination is Better?
Parallel wiring is more reliable, safe and simple to use. A parallel circuit is better than a series circuit because in case of any failure only the appliance connecting the faulty pathway will stop working.
Disadvantages of series combination
If one component in a series circuit fails, then all the components in the circuit fail because the circuit has been broken.
The more components there are in a series circuit, the greater the circuit's resistance.
Which one last longer battery life?
Batteries last longer in parallel, because the voltage remains the same, but the amps increase. If you connect two 12v 50ah batteries in parallel, it will still be a 12 volt system, but the amps will double to 100ah, so the batteries will last longer.
Connecting batteries in series increases voltage, but does not increase overall amp-hour capacity.
